Common Types of Burial Options in the Philippines
What are the common types of burial options in the Philippines? Let’s find out!
Golden Haven Memorial Parks just like any cemetery, offers memorial lots at varying sizes and price points within each of its existing memorial parks and within those memorial parks presently in development.
The four basic memorial lot packages are:
- lawn lot
- garden niche
- family patio
- family estate
Purchasers of a family estate lot can choose to construct a mausoleum, the design, and construction of which must conform to the company’s parameters as part of the terms of the purchase. Golden Haven also offers added value to their family estate product which is the Golden Shrines: Golden Haven Mausoleum Collection. Clients that purchase family estate lots from Golden Haven are entitled to choose a design from their mausoleum collection. This includes the architectural design, the plan, and details of the structure. It is estimated that the buyer can save up to P100,000 from the worth of the plan and architectural design by this offer.

What are the Common Types of Burial Options?
Every Filipino family has a traditional way of preserving the memories of their dearly departed. In this article, we will discuss the common types of burial options in the Philippines
1. Lawn lot
The lawn lot is an area for underground interment. It is the most traditional type of memorial product for burial that is commonly surrounded by green Bermuda and has flat ground markers or also known as a tombstone. It is usually a double-tiered lot and can fit two fresh bodies and 2 cinerary remains.
2. Family Estate / Mausoleum
Family Estate or also known as mausoleum is an area for both underground and aboveground interment. It has an open or closed memorial structure that can house an unlimited number of interments as long as it fits the structure.
3. Columbarium Vaults
A columbarium vault is a structure for the storage of the urns that hold the cremated remains of the deceased. It can usually house a maximum of 4 regular urns per storage.
These are the three common types of burial options in the Philippines. There are also ancient forms of disposition include mummification, exposure, or sky burial, practiced by Tibetans and some Native American tribes.
Golden Haven also offers columbary vaults, and one of our projects is located in C5 Extension, Global South, Las Pinas City – the Santuario de San Ezekiel Moreno Columbarium. This structure is built below the church of San Ezekiel Moreno where families can offer prayers for their loved ones.
With more than 30 locations nationwide, here are the other common types of burial options that Golden Haven offers; garden niche; family patio; ossuary; and apartment niche. In addition, the company offers memorial services in Las Piñas and Angeles, Pampanga.
