Investment Opportunities: How to prepare for uncertainties?
Written by: Erwin Joshua Alcazar, Golden MV Intern
What does it mean to LIVE WELL and how is it ASSOCIATED with dying well?
As we all know, death is the destination we will all share because it is inevitable and it’s part of all of our lives. At first, it sounds very unusual to say that we should think about our death if we want to make the most of our life. But, come to think of it, if we don’t allow ourselves to prepare for a happy death, how can we live our life’s to the fullest? What I mean is that we should live life with arms wide open because happiness in life depends on the quality of our thoughts and values that we instill within ourselves. And that’s how can we be prepared for a meaningful passing.
Here 5 ways to enjoy life genuinely and prepare for a meaningful passing:
- Learn to FORGIVE, it makes you STRONGER.
Let’s be real. Forgiveness isn’t easy as it may seem but to forgive someone will allow you to be a better version of yourself. I think, that to be able to forgive other people, you have to first be able to forgive yourself sincerely. If you cannot forgive yourself, you will continue to pull yourself back and you won’t be able to leave the past behind. Forgiving someone doesn’t mean that you’re forgetting what he/she did to you, everything can be forgiven, but not forgotten. But allowing yourself to be free by forgiving that someone will make you a better person in this world.
- Don’t be SCARED to spend MONEY on creating MEMORIES.
Yes, money can’t buy happiness. But money can help you to create adventures and experiences that you will cherish as memories when you get older. Spending money with your loved ones, friends, and family is definitely worth it because it creates memories that will last forever. But of course, you should learn how can you spend money wisely and efficiently, don’t just spend all day buying unnecessary and pointless things, be sure to spend money wisely according to your needs.

- Live each day as if it were our LAST.
Living life each day as if it were our last will make you realize that life has so much to offer. Life is short, and we only live once. Learning to live life to the fullest is an important aspect of making the most of every day. We should not be afraid to discover the path that will lead us to our different sense of happiness and accomplishments. We all need time to rest and rethink in a sense of contentment but staying in your comfort zone too long will leave you feeling a lack of fulfillment in life. Search and discover what makes your life feel meaningful and happy, GO FOR IT!
- Don’t stress over the PAST and FUTURE, focus on the PRESENT.
Your past is important to learn from. The present is important to work towards. Sometimes, we tend to think that we are stuck in a phase of our life which results to stress and feeling unsuccessful. Living in the present moment and not dwelling on the past and stressing into your future will allow you to build a whole world that will then become your legacy. Sometimes people put so much of their energy into thinking about the past or future that we don’t realize just how quickly the present moment flies by. Being in the present will allows us to be thankful and understand how life is beautiful.
- BE HAPPY.
Happiness is a choice, make it yours. Out of the five ways listed above, this is the simplest but hardest way to prepare for a happy death and life fulfillment. Some days are good, but there are probably more days that are just common or plain bad, and it’s on those days that the true nature of happiness is revealed. Being happy for others is earned, but in reality, it is not, you should just choose it and live with it. Happiness is about choosing to see the adventures in every moment of life, choosing to deeply understand that there will always be light after the dark, that there is always good in every situation and every person, no matter how hard things may seem.
Conclusion
Preparing for death is not just about letting yourself accept that end-of-life is inevitable, it is also about how you celebrated and live the life you wanted. Let’s always remember that preparing a for happy death means living life to the fullest and not regretting any of it. BE HAPPY. LIVE YOUR LIFE. Because at the end of the day our worst fear isn’t the end of life but the end of memories.
